Lecture: Educational Leadership Toward Violence Prevention

This lecture opens by presenting the paradox of responsibility vs. authority in today’s education, beginning with ineffective ways of dealing with the consequential problems. The lecture goes on to answer the question: What is influential educational leadership? and specifies particular educational leadership skills.

This is followed by a description of the three elements of an effective violence prevention plan:

· Setting resolute boundaries

· Teaching social skills

· Entering into educational partnership

The lecture combines knowledge from the fields of child development, family therapy, and organizational consulting with case studies taken from the lecturer’s personal and professional “file”. Includes a slide show combining video segments for illustration.
